Hawks take down Lakers in Twin Bill

The Lakers traveled to Norfolk, Nebraska to take on the Northeast Hawks in an ICCAC showdown. In game one scoring was hard to come by for the Lakers. The lone two runs for Iowa Lakes came off of a Jayden Adrians (Green Bay, Wisconsin) single through the 5-6 hole. Devin Brackin ( Tampa, Florida) would come up with a runner of first and hit his second homerun of the season over the left field wall to give Iowa Lakes a 2-1 lead. The Lakers would not push anymore runs across home and Northeast would add on 6 unanswered runs to make it 8-2 and that would turn out to be the final in game 1.

Frankie Cresta (Johnston, Iowa) would get the start in game 1 for Iowa Lakes. Cresta would go 5 1/3 with 6 runs and only 4 earned. Chirs Isensee (Shaokopee, Minnesota) came in 2/3 of an inning with 2 earned runs and 1 strikeout. 

In game two, Northeast jumped out to an early 6-0 lead heading into the top half of the 4th where Iowa Lakes would push one across.  Brackin would reach on a error by the shortstop and Dean Bedell  (Treynor, Iowa) would single to right field to put runners on first and second and Alex Pavon (Bellevue, Nebraska) would walk to load the bases. Spencer Keane (Palm Springs, California) would hit a sac fly to right to score Brackin. The Lakers would add on 4 more runs in the 5th. Andrew Eskens (Lincoln, Nebraska) would get on with a walk and Chipper Holland (Tampa, Florida) woud hit into a fielder's choice. Adrians would rope another single and a HBP by Bedell would load the bases up. Pavon would hit a line drive down the third baseline to score 2 runs to make it 6-3 Northeast. Austen Daliet (New Orleans, Louisiana) would single to shallow right and score 2 more runs to make the score 6-5 going into the 6th. Northeast would add on 6 more throughout the rest of the game and hold the Lakers to 0 making the final score 12-5.

 Evan Sankey ( Appleton, Wisconsin) 6 2/3 7 earned runs. Charboneau 0 earned runs.
