Lakers drop Series to Tritons

The Lakers and Tritons had a home and home to cap off the last conference series of the year. In game one, the Tritons had full control of the game and took game one 11-0. In the nightcap, Evan Sankey (Appleton, Wisconsin) was dominant holding the Iowa Central offense scoreless. Iowa Lakes would take the lead in game two when Dean Bedell (Treynor, Iowa) singled to right field. Beau Sackett (Malcolm, Nebraska) put down a bunt down the third base line and a throwing error by Iowa Central would allow Bedell to score from first to take the lead. Rain would push the game to Fort Dodge where Iowa Central would control the rest of the game scoring five unanswered runs giving them the game two win 5-1.

 

Iowa Lakes scored early in game three when Chipper Holland (Tampa, Florida) walked and Jayden Adrians (Green Bay, Wisconsin) launched a ball over the left field wall to give Iowa Lakes 2-0 lead. Iowa Central scored twelve runs in their game three win 12-4 giving them the series win. The final game of the series the Lakers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Spencer Keane (Palm Springs, California) was hit by the pitch and Holland singled up the middle. Bo Teveldal (Baltic, South Dakota) roped a ball in the gap allowing Keane to score from second base. Iowa Central would tie things in the first on a pair of singles. Teveldal came up in the 4th with things tied up and hit his first homerun of the year over the left field fence giving Iowa Lakes a 2-1 lead. The Tritons would respond with eight runs of their own in the 4th and would win game four 11-2.
