Women's Basketball: Iowa Lakes CC Classic Recap

The Central Community College women's basketball team split a pair of games at the Iowa Lakes Community College Classic in Estherville. A recap of both games is below. The Raiders are 6-5 on the season and will host Northeast Community College on Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m.

Game 1: CCC 63  North Iowa Area Community College 60

Madisen Jelinek scored the game-winning bucket with a half second on the clock to lift the Raiders to a 63-60 win over the Trojans. NIACC held a 53-44 lead going into the fourth quarter before CCC rattled off a 16-7 run to tie the game at 60 apiece, setting up Jelinek's three-point play.

Jelinek finished with a double-double consisting of 10 points and 11 rebounds. Amy Mitchll led all scorers with 19 points while Nikie Nelson tallied 14 points.

Game 2: Iowa Lakes CC 64  CCC 61 OT

The host Lakers survived a two-time scare from CCC with a 64-61 overtime victory. With the game tied at 56-56 in the fourth period, the Raiders missed a potentially game-winning shot, forcing the extra session. Iowa Lakes pulled ahead of CCC, 64-61, late in overtime and the Raiders were able to get a three-point shot off at the buzzer, but the attempt failed.
