Tritons take one from Lakers

GAME ONE: (Tritons 16, Lakers 11)

Iowa Lakes fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 16-11 loss to Iowa Central on Monday. The Tritons took the lead on a double in the first inning.

Ben Bach drove in four runners in the loss. Bach drove in runs on a stolen base in the fifth and a home run in the eighth.

Tritons got things moving in the first inning. Martinez doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

The Lakers notched four runs in the eighth inning. Bach and Joey Winters each drove in runs during the inning.

Iowa Central scored eight runs in the third inning. Martinez, Johnson, Baker, Boyd, and Holy all drove in runs in the frame.

Boeser was the winning pitcher for Iowa Central. Boeser surrendered five runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out five.

Briar Rowley took the loss for the Lakers. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out one.

Iowa Lakes hit two home runs on the day. Bach had a long ball in the eighth inning. Joan Benavidez had a homer in the fifth inning.

Iowa Lakes racked up 15 hits on the day. Matt Torresan, Bach, Benavidez, and Winters all collected multiple hits for the Lakers. Torresan went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Iowa Lakes Community College in hits.

Tritons collected seven hits on the day. Johnson and Martinez each racked up multiple hits for Iowa Central. 

 

Lakers take on NIACC at home one Wednesday, April 13th at 1:00 PM/3:30 PM CST.
