The Iowa Lakes Community College Dance Team made history at their first National competition, Dance Team Union's 2024 College Classic National Championships, held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The team competed in the Open Pom and Hip Hop categories, securing a runner-up position in the highly competitive Junior College Hip Hop category and a notable third place in Pom.

Coach Danie Juhl expressed immense pride in the team's performance, stating, "I had faith in this year's team's ability to excel in competition. Witnessing our dancers unite on the floor and pour their hearts into their performances was truly remarkable! I am overflowing with pride for these girls and their unwavering dedication to their team."

Brenna Evans had this to say, "Being given the opportunity to compete at nationals for the first time in program history was a huge step for our team, and we are so grateful for it. Getting to experience the next level of competition and what it takes to prepare for it was incredible. This team and this season will be something we will always remember."

Grace Lutat commented, "This year's dance season for the Lakers is one for the books. Coming into nationals for the first time was intimidating, but this team handled it so well. We worked so hard for this moment, and I could not be more proud of this team. All of us dancers worked so well together all season, so experiencing nationals together for the first time was an experience none of us will forget. We will forever be grateful for our supporters, and everyone who helped send us to nationals."

The Iowa Lakes Community College Dance Team comprises Brenna Evans (Estherville), Mara Koenck (Graettinger), Grace Lutat (Estherville), Lillian Nitchals (Estherville), Elizabeth Peta (Estherville), Adele Reinhardt (Estherville), Audree Reinhardt (Estherville), and Abigail Tibken (Anita).
