Men’s Basketball Hosts NJCAA Division 1 Opponent Southeastern

Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball will face ICCAC Division 1 opponent Southeastern on Saturday, December 2nd, at 7 PM.  The Lakers are currently 7-2 with a close loss on the road to North Dakota State College of Science, 79-84.

Kyle Beisch recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.  Three other Lakers contributed 10 or more points against the Wildcats.  Nick Wagner added 20 points, Jacob Rau scored 12, and Streeter McIlravy had 10 points.

The Lakers are 6th in the nation in scoring with 101.7 points per game, which is helped by their ability to shoot from the 3-point line.  They are shooting 42.5% from the arc.  The Lakers are limiting second chance opportunities for the opponents with 34.4 defensive rebounds per game, which ranks 4th in the nation.

Iowa Lakes will tip off against Southeastern Hawks (8-2) on Saturday at 7 PM. Last year, the Lakers defeated the Hawks in Burlington 82-79.  Dennis Joiner made a late game 3 pointer from the arc to win the game.

The Lakers will have to quickly shift their focus after Saturday as they will host Dakota Wesleyan JV on Monday, December 4th at 7:30 PM.  Women's Basketball will tip off against Dakota Wesleyan JV at 5:30 PM on Monday as well.
