#2 seeded Iowa Lakes Lakers will host #7 seeded North Iowa Area Community College Trojans in the first round of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Tournament.  Lakers' Head Coach Troy Larson said, "This will be the third time we have seen NIACC. They (Trojans) will bring a lot of energy and fight. We must do the same as well."

The Trojans have not defeated the Lakers this year yet.  The first time out, the Lakers won 79-72.  In their second match up Iowa Lakes won 103-78.  In both games, the Lakers had several players play well.  In their first game the Lakers had six players in double digits for points.  In their most recent game Iowa Lakes had five players score in double digits.  Dennis Joiner and Streeter McIlravy finished the night with 20 and 23 points respectively.  "In order to be successful against NIACC, we need to have good, efficient nights from several of our players" stated Coach Larson.

In the games against the Lakers this season, NIACC guard Nick Wurm played well.  Wurm scored a total of 58 points against the Laker defense while grabbing 15 rebounds.  Wurm also shot 16 of 20 from the free throw line.  When asked about Wurm, Coach Larson said, "He is a good player and we need to contain him."

The latest national rankings have Iowa Lakes receiving votes.  The Lakers are 8-0 during ICCAC home tournament games the past four seasons.

The Lakers will tip off against the Trojans Tuesday night at 7:00 PM.
