The 17th ranked Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team will host conference opponent Ellsworth Panthers at home on Saturday, December 8th at 3:00 PM. The Lakers are currently 8-2 overall and 1-0 in the ICCAC. The Lakers captured a win against Little Priest Tribal College Warriors, 75-60, in the ICCAC conference opener Wednesday night.
Equan Ards led the Lakers in scoring with 22 points while shooting 57% from the floor. Multiple Lakers scored in double digits. Solomon Clayton had a well-rounded game with 17 points, 20 rebounds, and five assists. Solomon also shot 63% from the field and 88% from the free throw line. Lamontae Lewis contributed 13 points and Malcolm Clayton scored 11 points on the night.
The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference will be competitive again. With the Lakers ranked 17th in the nation, three teams in the ICCAC are ranked. Southwestern is ranked second moving up five spots from preseason rankings. Kirkwood was previously ranked fifth with the latest rankings have them at fourth. Five of the eight teams in the conference have a 73% winning percentage or better.
