Lakers host Iowa Central in ICCAC opener

Estherville, Iowa – Tuesday, December 3, 2019

The 20th ranked Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team will host conference opponent Iowa Central at home on Wednesday, December 4th at 7:30 pm. The Lakers are currently 8-2 on the season. The Lakers defeated Central Community College their last time out 114-75.

The Lakers who are averaging 98 points per contest are paced by Justin Brookens.  Brookens is averaging 19.8 points per game. Brookens is also getting 3.7 rebounds and dishing out 5.4 assists per game while shooting 45 percent from the floor and 47% from 3. Multiple Lakers are averaging double figures on the season including Keshawn Pegues at 15.5 points, Kevin Cook at 12.1 points, Malcolm Clayton at 11.9 points, and Boston Grimes at 11.5 points. Pegues also leads the Lakers in rebounding with 8.9 rebounds per game. 

"The conference, as usual, is one of the best in the country and will be very competitive," Said Lakers Head Coach Troy Larson.  The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference currently has 4 teams in the top 20. North Iowa is currently 2nd, DMACC is 12th, defending National Champion Kirkwood is 16th, and Iowa Lakes is 20th.
