Lakers bounce back against Marshalltown

The Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team won its 10th game of the season by knocking off NJCAA Division 1 opponent Marshalltown 88-77. The Lakers are currently 10-3 on the year.

The Lakers were led by Justin Brookens with 19 points, Xavier Evans scored 15 points, Malcolm Clayton and Keshawn Pegues each had 12 points, and Boston Grimes scored 11. Pegues also led the team with 12 rebounds.

Marshalltown was led by Jaylin Scott with 23 points.

Iowa Lakes head coach Troy Larson had this to say about the game, "We didn't play hard the last time out and it cost us a game, So we really focused this week in practice on playing and defending harder and tonight we played harder to start the game but we're pretty tight. Guys were able to relax a little bit in the second half and did a good job defending and rebounding the ball and we were able to come away with a win."

The Lakers will travel to Rosemount, Minnesota on December 14th to take on Dakota County. Tip for that game will be at 2pm.
