Lakers add Fletcher to Staff

Estherville, IA. — Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball Coach Troy Larson announced that they will be adding Graduate Assistant Darryl Fletcher to their staff for next season. 

Fletcher, a native of Austell, Georgia spent the last two seasons as an Athletic Director/Varsity Assistant under NJCAA Hall of Famer John Spezia at La Salette Academy in Georgetown, IL.

Lakers Head Coach Troy Larson had this to say about Fletcher. "Very fortunate to land an outstanding coach such as Darryl.  He is very well respected and has learned from some of the best minds in the game.  Thus he has a very good basketball mind and will be a valuable contributor to our staff.  Darryl's connections and relationships will allow him to be an outstanding recruiter.  His work ethic and desire to learn makes him the complete package."

Prior to La Salette Academy, Fletcher was the Assistant Varsity Coach at Allatoona and Discovery High school in Georgia, where he helped led the team to state championship games. Fletcher has also served as the Coach for AC Georgia AAU program which, has had several Division 1 and 2 players.  

Fletcher had this to say about joing Iowa Lakes. "I'm so excited to be apart of the Iowa Lakes community. Getting to know Coach Larson and McKinney, over the past months has been amazing. I look forward to helping add to the winning tradition that is already in place and making our players better on and off the court."

Iowa Lakes finished this past season ranked 10th in the final National Junior College Athletic Association poll with an overall record of 26-6 and had an Iowa Community College Athletic Conference record of 13-3.
