Lakers knockoff Northeast

The Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team knocked off Northeast 100-67 to move to 14-7 on the season. The win secures the 2 seed for Lakers in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference tournament. 

The Lakers were led by Kevin Cook with 17 points and 14 rebounds.  Keshawn Pegues added 16 points and 7 rebounds. Ryan Hall added 14 points, Dillon Carlson added 12, and Xzavier Jones  had 11. 
 
Northeast was led by Jared Lopez with 18 points.
 
The Lakers who were solid on the defensive end of the floor held Northeast to 32% from the floor and out rebounded the Hawks 48-34.
 
Iowa Lakes Head Coach Troy Larson had this to say about the game "I'm proud of our guys for their defensive effort tonight. We got off to a shaky start offensively and fumbled the ball around a lot but we regrouped and with the effort on the defensive end we were able to come away with the win."
The Lakers will host Ellsworth on Saturday in their final regular season game.  It will be sophomore day in Laker Gymnasium. Tip for the game will be at 3pm.
