The Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team defeated Iowa Central 103-82 to advance to the semifinals of the Region XI tournament. With the win the Lakers move to 16-7 on the season.
The Lakers were led by Keshawn Pegues with 19 points. Dillon Carlson and Caleb Johnson each added 17 points and Ryan Hall added 14 points.
Iowa Central was led by Javonte Keck with 21 points.
The Lakers jumped out to an early lead and were up 57-36 at the half shooting 64% from the floor. The quick start would prove to be the difference in the game. Iowa Lakes also outrebounded Iowa Central 40 to 15 in the game.
Iowa Lakes Head Coach Troy Larson had this to say about the game "We played a really good first half and got off to a good start. Our guys were good rebounding the ball tonight and when you rebound the ball well you get extra possessions which helped us get the win. ."
The Lakers will host Kirkwood on Thursday in the semifinal game. Tip for the game will be at 7 pm.
