The Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team advanced to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Finals with a 79-56 win over Kirkwood. 

 

The Lakers were led by Ryan Hall with 26 points. Xzavier Jones added 17 points, and Caleb Johnson had 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists. 

 

Kirkwood was led by Corvon Seales with 14 points.

 

Iowa Lakes Head Coach Troy Larson had this to say about the game, "It was a lot of fun to see our team play with that much energy and passion on the defensive end. We were the more aggressive team resulting in Kirkwood shooting 36% from the floor. We also competed hard on the glass and out rebounded them by 17 so the energy and effort stats we were better at tonight."

 

The Lakers will host Southwestern on Saturday for the right to go to the NJCAA National Tournament. Tip for that contest will be at 3 pm.
