Lakers take on DMACC in Final Four

The Iowa Lakes men's basketball team advanced to the Final Four of the NJCAA Division 2 National Tournament today when they defeated 12th seeded Henry Ford 88-74.

The Lakers were led by Ryan Hall and Xzavier Jones with 17 points.  Kevin Cook had 16 points and 15 rebounds, Dillon Carlson had 13 points and Caleb Johnson added 12 points.

Henry Ford was led by Lorenzo Wright with 23 points.

Head Coach Troy Larson had this to say about the game. "We did a great job in the second half defensively holding them to 23% from the floor after they made 11 three-point shots in the first half. Our depth allowed us to pull away. Our freshmen big's Johnathan Oden and Joseph Owens gave us a big lift and allowed us to stretch the game down the stretch."

The Lakers will take on DMACC in the Final Four. The Bears who are also a member of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference defeated the Lakers in their previous two meetings this year   78-74, and 71-62. DMACC was 19-5 on the season and won the ICCAC regular season title.
