Lakers Split at Johnson County
Estherville, IA- The Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team split this weekend at the Johnson County Classic to move to 2-2 on the season.
 
The first game of the weekend saw the Lakers take on the host team of the classic Johnson County. The Lakers would drop the game 76-66.
 
Scoring in double figures for the Lakers was Joseph Owens with 10 points  and Xzavier Jones with 10 points. Caleb Johnson led the Lakers in rebounds with 9.
 
Johnson County was led by Tymer Jackson with 25 points. 
 
Laker head coach Troy Larson had this to say about the game. "Are effort was poor tonight and Johnson County punched us in the face. We didn't guard hard and we didn't execute offensively. "
 
In their 2nd game of the weekend the Lakers would defeat Highland Community College 80-47.
 
The Lakers are led by Johnathan Oden with 14 points. Also scoring in double figures was Ryan Hall and Jaylen Harris each with 11 points. Oden and Caleb Johnson both led the Lakers in rebounds with 7. 
 
Highland was led by Kendon Knight with 10 points.
 
Iowa Lakes head coach Troy Larson had this to say about the game. "Our guys responded well after last nights game out. We came out and played harder and when you play hard you give yourself a chance.  
 
The Lakers will travel to Marshalltown next weekend to play in the Emerson Classic. They will play Bryant and Stratton on Friday at 3 pm and Rock Valley on Saturday at 1pm.
