Estherville, IA – Three Iowa Lakes Community College Men's Basketball athletes were named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Division II Men's Basketball All-Region teams.

Kai Evans and Sam West were named to the ICCAC All-Region first team, and Benard Omooria was named to the second team All-Region.

"I'm proud of the representation that we had on the all-conference teams.  It is a direct result of our student athletes work ethic, competitiveness, and character.  All of our players sacrificed individual statistics in order for our team to achieve maximum success.  It takes talented players to have success and you can tell it is the case this year with the amount of all conference performers we have," commented Head Coach Jason McKinney.

Kai Evans was the leading scorer for the Lakers with 17.9 points per game. Kai also led the ICCAC in PPG with 17.9 and was 7th in the conference for FG Percent with 52.4. "Kai led the conference in scoring this year. He is a high-level scorer when he is around the basket. He improved defensively as the season went on became a better all-around player by the end of the season. He will be a really good player wherever he decides to go next season and I wish him success wherever he goes."

Sam West averaged 15.8 points per game and 4.1 assists per game. West was 7th in the conference with PPG, with 15.8. West also sat 3rd in Assists per game with 4.1. "Sam was one of the best all-around players in our league this season. He has continued to get better throughout his career. He has a high I.Q. and does all the little things that a team needs done. He has improved greatly since his first day on campus and figured out how to be a college basketball player. I am looking forward to following him has he continues at the four-year level."

Benard Omooria averaged 15.1 points per game and sat 8th in the ICCAC for PPG. Omooria was 5th in the conference in 3pt. percent with 41.8, and he averaged 2.8 assists per game. "Benard is one of the most dynamic scorers I have ever coached. He can score it so many ways and he shoot's the ball with so much confidence. He has a very high IQ and makes a ton of plays every game and is a big reason why we have won so many games. He is a very good player and wherever he goes their team will be better."

Iowa Lakes is coached by Jason McKinney who is in his 1st season as head coach of the Lakers. He has an overall record of 26-7.

The Lakers finished with a 26-7 overall record on the season and ended ICCAC play with a 14-4 record.
