Title: Volunteer Assistant

Coach Willmore is in his third year as a volunteer coach with the Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team. He has assisted with the team for the past five seasons, sharing the successful seasons, qualifying for the 2021 and 2023 NJCAA National Tournaments.

Coach Willmore is a 1965 graduate of Luther College with a major in Biology and minor in Compound Science. He brings with him thirty-six years of coaching experience, coaching at Keosauqua, Plainfield, and Emmetsburg Iowa. Coaching in all areas.  Head coach in varsity basketball, baseball, golf; head coach jr. high track, basketball, and wrestling. Assisting in varsity football and track. While in Emmetsburg Willmore took part in seven state football championships. His major interest was in the health and well-being of his athletes.

Coach Willmore started a program while coaching in Emmetsburg as a trainer, taking care of sport injuries and taking care of all taping and equipment. He was involved with the IAHSAA in developing a program dealing with sport injuries for all schools in the state, which became the Iowa Athletic Trainers Society.

Coach has been married to his wife Bettje for over fifty-seven years. They have two grown sons, James and David, and seven grandchildren. Jim and his wife live on Ingham Lake south of Estherville.
