Weather Cancels Round 2 at Mozingo Lake

Overnight rains lingered into the morning leaving Mozingo Lake Golf Course unplayable and canceling the second round of the Graceland University Spring Invitational. The shotgun start was originally postponed with hopes that the rain would subside and the tournament could be finished. After three holes the players were called back and the second round was officially canceled. The first day leaders, Kansas City Kansas Community College, withdrew prior to starting the second round leaving Mount Mercy University in first place with a team score of 299. The Lakers were led by Matt Bennett with his one under par 71, which was good enough for second place overrall and a place on the All-Tournament Team. Jacob Baker's 76 was one shot off placing on the All-Tournament Team. Iowa Lakes placed sixth out of nine teams with a score of 318. The Laker's continue their spring season Saturday April 1st and Sunday April 2nd at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny, Iowa at the Iowa Central Spring Invitational.
