Bennett and Henry Bounce Back in Round 2

Matt Bennett and Jordan Henry took advantage of some early tee times and some good momentum to get back on track for the National Tournament in Mesa, Arizona at the Longbow Golf Club. With tee time temps 20 degrees cooler the two Lakers found some success that could not be found for round 1.

Jordan Henry fired a one over par 72 while Matt Bennett carded a two over par 73 to give them two day totals of 153 and 158. Tee times for round 3 are determined by two day totals and will be announced when the entire field has finished play for round 2.

"Today was a much better day in terms of effort and energy. It is much easier to focus on your round when you can find a rhythm and do not have to worry as much about the heat while standing and waiting" said Coach Weber. "The boys played very well and their scores showed. They will undoubtedly move up the leader board. With a solid bounce back today, they have a good chance of climbing back into contention for All-America honors if they can get two more rounds like today. Hopefully they get some good tee times for tomorrow and we will go from there."

The Laker national qualifiers will continue their tournament play tomorrow with tee times to be announced later tonight at the conclusion of round 2 at the NJCAA DII National Golf Tournament in Mesa, Arizona at Longbow Golf Club.
