Lakers Cap Careers with Iowa Lakes

Matt Bennett and Jordan Henry wrapped up their Iowa Lakes golfing careers today with the conclusion of the Men's NJCAA DII National Golf Championship.

Bennett was able to card the second lowest daily score with a one under par 70 to give him a four day total of 305, jumping 27 spots to clinch a top 50 finish with a tie for 45th place individually.

Jordan Henry carded an 84 to score a four day total of 317 and finishing in a tie for 78th place individually.

Coach Weber had this to add about the week and his players: "It has been a very long and tiring week down here in Mesa, Arizona. Walking 108 holes is no easy task, especially when you throw in the extreme heat that Mesa so gracefully provided. The boys played with a lot of heart and determination and I could not be any prouder of the two of them. They are both very deserving to get the the honor of playing at the National Tournament along with some of the best players in the country. They set some goals last week and I think they achieved quite a few of them with a few others falling through the cracks, but all in all it was a very good week. We met a lot of great people and I hope Jordan and Matt take away a lot of good memories that they can look back on years from now, just as I do today from my past experiences. I wish nothing but the best for these two in their future endeavors both on and off the course. They are not only very talented young golfers, but they are very good young men with bright futures. I hope this is only a taste of what my coaching career and this programs turns out to become, and I am very honored to have had them as my first National Tournament Qualifiers at Iowa Lakes."
