Lakers Fire Season Low on Day 2 of Blue River Classic

After posting a season high 330 on Day 1, the Laker men's golf team bounced back with a season low team score of 301 to move from 11th place to finish in a T-9th out of 17 teams at the Blue River Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Aaron James led the charge for the Lakers firing a one over par 73 quickly followed by Jaden Kallhoff with a two over 74. Sterling McIlravy and Morgan Edwards both came in with a 77 and Carlton Rahn followed with a 79. Non counting scores were Connor Pirtle with a 73 and Josh Petrich with an 87.

"The guys showed a lot of toughness today to bounce back from an ugly day 1 to post a solid team score of 301. This is more of what I think this team is capable of doing and it was great to see them all come in with great scores and move up the leaderboard," said Coach Weber. "Highlands is by far an easier course when compared to Wilderness Ridge, but the guys took advantage and played very well. They are showing steady improvement this year, even with the hiccup from yesterday. Now we have some time off to get focused for the final push at the end of the year."

Final Scores - Aaron James (81-73-154) Jaden Kallhoff (84-74-158) Sterling McIlravy (82-77-159) Morgan Edwards (84-77-161) Carlton Rahn (83-79-162) Connor Pirtle (88-73-161) Josh Petrich (98-87-185)

The Lakers will head to the links again on October 1st at the Waldorf Invitational in Forest City, Iowa.
