The Iowa Lakes men's golf team was back in action at The Legacy Golf Club in Norwalk, Iowa to compete in the Simpson Spring Invitational. The Lakers were able to come out with a second place finish by posting their lowest score of the spring with a team mark of 309, falling six shots behind SWCC. The Lakers were led by Sterling McIlravy with a three over par 75, taking second place individually.

"I have been preaching all spring to these guys to be patient but persistent and they will start to see results", said Coach Weber when asked about the spring season. "The weather has been less than ideal and it has been difficult to get into a true rhythm, but they are finally starting to see what all of their hard work in the off season is doing. These guys were able to go out to a good golf course today in windy, cold conditions and post a very respectable score today, and it was nowhere near their full potential as a team. Once they get into a rhythm and start to get all the pieces together, they will really start to get results."

Other scores for the Lakers were Cameron Maxwell with a 77, Aaron James with a 78, Morgan Edwards with a 79, and Carlton Rahn with an 80.

The Lakers will be back in action along with the women's team on Friday, April 13th at Lake Panorama National for the Region XI Spring Preview.
