The Iowa Lakes men's golf team finished up a two day Iowa Central Invite with a round two 315, moving up to 8th place in the fifteen team event with a two day total of 635. The Tritons from Iowa Central would win their home event with a two day total of 575. Leading the way for the Lakers was freshman Jake Hemann with a round two 77 and a two day total of 151, good enough for a T-13 finish in the 71 player field.

Iowa Lakes golf coach Jarvis Weber was asked about his team's finish after the round: "We played better today, but not nearly good enough to really make a move. Too many silly mistakes that we will need to clean up if we want to have a more impactful spring. We are young, so this year is really about building good habits and building a great culture so these guys can be leaders next year."

After Hemann's 151, the Lakers were closely bunched together with their two day efforts. Dawson Weber would post 78 on day two for a total of 161, Sam Miller and Blake Johnson would both post a day two round of 80 for a two day total of 162, and Ben Tibken would card an 83 for a total of 165.

"Jake has shown a lot of progress this spring due to a hard working off-season, so I'm glad he is seeing some results. These rounds in the spring will be huge for his development and becoming a leader for us this year and next. The other guys showed good stretches, but had too many big numbers that kept them from posting better scores that they are capable of. Hopefully they learn from these rounds and show progress next week in Sioux City and regionals."

The Lakers have a week to prepare for the two day Briar Cliff Invite at Dakota Dunes Country Club and Two Rivers Golf Course on April 19th and 20th.
