Iowa Lakes Finishes 3rd at DMACC

The Iowa Lakes men's golf team came up with another third place finish this fall with a team score of 303 at the DMACC Fall Invite. Leading the Lakers was freshman Dylan Shepherd with a round of three-over par 74, finishing in 12th place. Iowa Central would win the event with a team score of 290.

"Another step in the right direction, which is all I can ask for right now" said Iowa Lakes golf coach Jarvis Weber. "We have more to offer and lower scores in the future, but right now it is all about progress and steps forward, which we are seeing every day."

Jake Hemann and Sam Miller would come in with rounds of 76, and Ciaran Jones a round of 77 to round out the top four scores for the team.

"We will continue to get healthy and better to start to close the gap with the teams in front of us." added Coach Weber. "We have a lot of swing talent, we just need to find a way to bring it all together. We'll get some reps in and get ready for the fall preview on Monday at the Quad Cup, which is always a team favorite event."

The Lakers will head to The Preserve on Lake Rathbun on Monday, September 20th for the Region XI Fall Preview.
