Men's Regional Golf Tournament

The Iowa Lakes men's golf team headed south to Lake Panarama National Golf Course for their regional golf tournament where Kirkwood served as the host.

Lakers sat at T-3rd with Iowa Central going into the last 18 holes. The Laker men were able to secure a 3rd place finish and earn a trip to the national tournament in Plymouth, Indiana at Swan Lake on May 23rd - 26th.

(Sophomore) Billy Lyons led the way for the Lakers shooting rounds of 79-78-80 (237). He finished T-6th.

(Freshman) Janlo Zaayman and (Sophomore) Kendall Nicolai also finished in the top 10 with three round totals of 240.

(Sophomore) Ciaran Jones was close behind with a total of 245 that earned him a T-16th finish.

(Sophomore) Lucas Gunderson battled hard when his game wasn't quite where it needed to be firing a 261 total that got him 41st in the tournament.

"Lake Panarama showed it's teeth at regionals with gusts up to 40mph" said Coach Myers. "Golfing in high winds quickly separates those who are striking it well from those who aren't. The guys stayed within each shot and didn't let the frustration of the playing conditions alter their focus. I'm lucky to be able to coach this talented crew for one more tournament. We're going to enjoy this achievement for a short amount of time and get right back to work. I can't wait to see what these guys can do on the national stage!"
