Four Iowa Lakes Community College men's golfers were named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Division II Men's Golf All-Region teams.
"From the very first practice, I knew this team had no limitations as to what they can accomplish." said Head Golf Coach Mike Myers. "I'm happy for these young men to be able to showcase their talent when it matters most. They are very deserving of these honors."
Billy Lyons was named to the ICCAC All-Region 1st team, Kendall Nicolai and Janlo Zaayman were named to the 2nd team, and Ciaran Jones was named honorable mention.
Billy Lyons – All-Region 1st Team
"Billy is the type of player that makes coaching easy and enjoyable. There's no question why he's so talented. He is one that doesn't have to be asked to put in the extra work. He's extremely solid mentally and one you can count on to post a solid score," said Coach Myers.
Janlo Zaayman – All-Region 2nd Team
"I don't know if I've met someone as mature as Janlo is at his age. He's the type of kid you want to build a program around. He leads by example and shows up ready to put in work every single day. This is only the beginning for him," said Coach Myers.
Kendall Nicolai – All-Region 2nd Team
"Kendall can overpower a course with his length off the tee. He puts in just as much time in the gym as he does on the course, and it showed at Regionals. He has a bright future in this sport, and I can't wait to see it come to fruition," said Coach Myers.
Ciaran Jones – All-Region Honorable Mention
"Ciaran is a natural talent. He found himself in the top 3 in more than one event this spring. His ball striking is one of the best I've ever seen. When he gets that putter rolling, it's not good for anyone else competing," said Coach Myers.
