Fall 2017 Iowa Lakes Men's Soccer Preview

The Iowa Lakes men's soccer team has finished 3rd in the competitive ICCAC men's soccer standings in each of the last three seasons.  In none of those seasons have the Lakers had the number of returning players as they do for the 2017 campaign.

Leading the Lakers in goals in the 2016 season, Rian Marques, is back for another year.  He'll be complemented by Craig Barker and Antonio Hernandez in midfield.

Defensive midfielder Charlie Hackshall and goalkeeper Ollie Harrison will help lead the Lakers' defensive efforts.  The Lakers will look to sophomore James Paylor and freshmen Adam Pritchard to fill in the defense as well.  Iowa Lakes will look to enter a top-two position in the league standings: held by Iowa Western and Marshalltown in each of the last four years.  Coach MacRae noted. "We have added some tougher opponents to our non-conference schedule this year so that we are prepared when regionals approach."
