Lakers fall at Iowa Western 2-0

Despite their loss the Iowa Lakes Community College Men's Soccer Team played some great soccer in their meeting against Iowa Western. The Lakers moved the ball very well and created various opportunities to go up in the first half, but could not finish their chances.  At the end of the day it comes down to who can put the ball in the back of the net.

The Reivers opened up the score line in the 31st minutes off of a wide free kick that Joao Burti headed into the goal.

In the second half the Lakers came out strong and continued to create opportunities but again were very unlucky and none of them fell into the goal. In the 82nd minute Kwesi Allen gave the Reivers their second and final goal of game.

"I thought it was a very good performance today even though the score line doesn't reflect that. Had we been more clinical in front of goal, we would of come away with a win, but right now we are just not getting the luck our play deserves. I thoroughly believe this week we have turned a corner and the results will start coming," said Coach Ben MacRae.

The Lakers will next host Dakota County on Wednesday September 20th for a conference match-up.
