Lakers fell short of playoffs

On October 21st the Lakers fell short of the playoffs as they need a win against NIACC. The Lakers knew that NIACC was going to come to play some competitive football.

As the Lakers dominated from the first minute, they were unable to find the back of the net which was the story all season. With one minute left in the game NIACC was able to convert off of a set piece to win the game 1-0 and advance to the playoffs.

"I thought todays performance was good, but the result did not show our superiority. If one of the chances goes in, I have no doubt that we would have gone on to score many more and qualified for the conference tournament. This season has been my unluckiest ever. We finished 10-6 and on the balance of play should have won 4 of those games, yet it goes down as a season of near misses. I do want to take this time and thank our sophomores for a tremendous two years and wish them all the best in their next step up the college ladder. I am very proud of the type of soccer we play and will continue to coach that way. We also hope who goes onto to represent this conference, goes on and wins nationals," said Coach Ben MacRae.
