Jose Mendez Signs with NCAA Division 2 Program Dominican College

An Iowa Lakes Community College Soccer player will advance to play at Division II program Dominican College.

Jose Mendez right back, appeared in 17 games for the Lakers– starting 14 of those.  He registered 2 goals in his sophomore season and added 3 assists.

Mendez was a great role model in the classroom and on the field. He graduated from Iowa Lakes with his AA degree obtaining a 3.5 GPA. He also captained Iowa Lakes in his sophomore season. At the end of the season, Mendez was awarded to the All-Academic 1st team. 

"I am very pleased to how all of the staff, and the coaches treated me inside of the school and out. I was able to basically ask anyone for help at the college. Attending Iowa Lakes Community College was a great learning experience and I also got to meet some of my greatest friends here. I was proud to be part of this great and growing program," said Mendez.      

Mendez also gave a special thank you to the Spencer community which made him feel comfortable hundreds of miles away from his home.
