Iowa Lakes Men's Soccer Head Coach Ben MacRae was awarded Region XI Coach of the Year Honors for the 2018 season; making this the 2nd time Macrae has earned this honor in the last five years. He shares this year's award with Marshalltown Head Coach, Rafael Martinez.

"I am honored to receive this award, and couldn't have done it without the excellent support from my assistant coach/ co-coach Kevin Nolan and our outstanding team. The award shows how far we have come this year and shows how much work our staff and players put into the season. I also want to congratulate Rafa on his success and wish him and his team luck for their next game," said Macrae.

The Lakers tied for 1st place in the conference with a conference record of 9-1. They defeated  Iowa Western for the first time in program history placed eight players on the All-Region teams for their performance this season.
