Lakers Win Two on Road, Move to (4-1) on the Season

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA-The Lakers Moved to 4-1 on the season with two huge road wins. ILCC started their two game road trip with a convincing 4-1 win over Northeastern Junior College.

Jean-Mikeal Tshibanda opened up the scoring for the Lakers just four minutes into the game. Tshibanda received a pass from Sophomore Luan Cesar. Northeastern would equalize in the thirteenth minute off a corner kick.

 

Seven minutes later the Lakers would get on the board again when Connor Goldsworthy won a penalty kick in the Northeastern box. Cameron Weston would step up and slot the ball home, taking the Lakers lead into halftime.

 

Four minutes into the second half the Lakers would extend their lead to 3-1. Luan Cesar headed home a cross from Sophomore Julien Paraud. In the Eighty-sixth minute Sophomore Jovoney Brown, who was named ICCAC Athlete of the week would guarantee the Lakers win after getting onto the end of an Odal Brown Cross.

Final score Lakers 4 Northwestern JC 1.

 

Laramie County Community College

The #15 Lakers second road game in two days matched them up against #14 nationally ranked Laramie County CC. The Lakers started their scoring off in the Twenty-ninth minute, when the Lakers leading goal scorer Cameron Weston hit a first time ball from Connor Goldsworthy into the back of Laramie County's goal.

 

 Thirteen minutes later Jon-Michael Bright would extend the Lakers lead to 2-0. As he ran onto a long through ball from Connor Goldsworthy and chipped the Laramie goalkeeper, Lakers would head into halftime up 2-0.

 

Fifteen minutes into the second half Sophomore Julien Paraud would score putting the Lakers lead to 3-0.  With twenty minutes left to go freshmen Odal brown would seal the Lakers win with a great run down the left side of the field, where he would cut in and strike a hard ball low into the Laramie goal. Lakers keep the shutout and win 4-0.

ILCC Lakers record now moves to (4-1) on the Year.

 

The Lakers will host two home games next Weekend, Saturday, September 14th against Heartland CC 12pm kickoff . Followed by Parkland CC on Sunday, 12pm kickoff. Both games will be at the Spencer Soccer Complex.
