SPENCER, IOWA-Sophomore forward Jovoney Brown was named ICCAC Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row. The Jamaican native has had an dominating start for the Lakers. In just two games Brown has totaled 5 goals and 1assist.
Iowa Lakes have won six consecutive matches taking home two more wins last week in routes over Heartland (Ill.) 5-1 and No. 9 Parkland (Ill.), 6-1. With both teams ranked or receiving votes, Jovoney Brown's performances were that much more impressive. Against Heartland, he scored two fantastic goals in the first half before completing his hat trick early in the second. Then against Parkland (Ill.), he netted two more goals and added an assist in just 60 minutes of play. Brown leads the ICCAC in both goals (8) and assists (7) this season.
The Lakers will host two games in Spencer this week. As they start conference play welcoming Northeast CC on Wednesday, September 18th, 3pm kickoff. And defending ICCAC Champion Marshalltown Saturday, September 21st Kickoff 3pm..
