The Lakers traveled to Waterloo, Iowa to take on Hawkeye CC in Region XI conference play. The #9 Lakers went into the game with an (8-1) overall record and a (2-0) record in conference play and the Redtail's came in with a (3-1) overall record and a (1-0) record in conference.
The Lakers started off the scoring with who else Jovoney Brown in the Thirteenth minute. Brown ran onto a pass from Sophomore Julien Paraud. Jovoney has (13) goals on the season and leads the Lakers in scoring and points.
Twenty minutes later the Lakers would add to their score, when Julien Paraud again setting up the goal for Sophomore Connor Goldsworthy. Paraud's assist tally moves to (4) on the year.
Three minutes later Hawkeye would cut the Lakers lead in half. Putting the score at halftime 2-1 Lakers.
Just five minutes into the second half Odal Brown would extend the Lakers lead to 3-1, assist from sophomore Alvaro Capra. The game would end 3-1 Lakers. ILCC moves to 9-1 on the year and 3-0 in conference play.
The Lakers will hose Region XI rival Indian Hills this Saturday, September 28th. Kickoff 3pm.
