Iowa Lakes entered the regional tournament as the 3 seed. In the opening game the Lakers defeated 6th seed Southeastern 1-0 in overtime. The win earned them a trip to Ottumwa, IA to play Indian Hills. The Lakers defeated 2 seed Indian Hills 3-1. Top seeded Iowa Western was upset by number 4 seed Marshalltown. Iowa Lakes will be the host for the Regional Final in Spencer on Sunday, November 3rd at 3pm.

This is familiar territory for the Lakers as they squared off with Marshalltown last year in the regional final. Head Coach Ben MacRae feels good about his team's preparation. The Lakers and Marshalltown Tigers have developed a great rivalry over the years. Coach MacRae has a lot of respect for the program.

Sunday's game will determine the team that moves forward from districts 11 and 13 to get one step closer to the national tournament.

Coach MacRae is proud of his team's effort so far, "our conference is so hard to come out of; to be in the final right now shows credit to our boys and how far we have come,"

The winner of Sunday's game will advance to take on the winner of Region 9 for an opportunity to play in the National Tournament.
