Iowa Lakes hosted Marshalltown on Wednesday in a rainy conference semi-final showdown, winning 2-1. The Lakers started the game strong, controlling the play and dominating possession. Leonardo Sexias got on the score sheet in the 17th minute when he pounced on a loose ball in the penalty area.

The rain didn't let up in the second half, and neither did the Lakers. Iowa Lakes showcased their creative ball movement and link-up play, leading to an absolute beauty of a shot from 20-yards out by Sofian Maghouz, assisted by Jeremie Benson. Marshalltown got their consolation with 3 minutes left in the game that was all but over.

The Lakers will travel to Council Bluffs this Sunday, October 31st, to face Iowa Western in the Conference Final matchup. The spooky Halloween affair to set to take place at 2 pm.
