Lakers Fall to Marshalltown

The Lakers traveled to Marshalltown on Saturday for their second conference matchup against the Tigers, losing 2-1. The Lakers took the early lead in the 2nd minute of the game when Jason Dyer found the back of the net from an assist by Lewis Duncan. However, their lead didn't last long as Marshalltown capitalized on a corner kick that The Lakers failed to deal with properly. Iowa Lakes controlled most of the match, dominating possession and creating most chances but couldn't find a second goal. The Tigers took advantage of their few spells of possession, scoring their second goal late into the second half from a fantastically taken left-footed strike from the top of the box.

Iowa Lakes is now 9-3 on the season and 2-2 in conference play. The Lakers host Iowa Western next in what is a highly anticipated matchup between two NJCAA Divison I men's soccer heavyweights. Kickoff is at 1pm CST on Wednesday, October 5th.
