Iowa Lakes men's soccer hosted Iowa Western on Wednesday, losing 2-0. The Lakers got off to a nightmare start when three players slipped on the initial kickoff, leading to an easy goal for the Reivers only 15 seconds into the match. The Lakers pressed on, however, creating chances and controlling possession but could not find the back of the net. The Reivers then received a questionable penalty late in the second half, which they converted, making it 2-0.
Iowa Lakes men's soccer is now 9-4 on the season and 2-3 in conference play. The Lakers have a week off before facing Iowa Central in Fort Dodge on Wednesday, October 12th, at 1PM CST.
