Lakers Roll Past Iowa Central 6-1

Iowa Lakes Men's Soccer traveled to Fort Dodge on Wednesday, October 12th, for their second conference matchup against Iowa Central. The Lakers looked back in good form, defeating the Tritons 6-1. The scoring got on underway in the 7th minute when Jason Dyer struck a ball across goal to the back post that Lewis Duncan got on the end of to make it 1-0. Ten minutes later, Lewis Nohar played a perfect ball into the box, setting up Jason Dyer for the glancing header, making it 2-0. Shortly after, Lewis Nohar set up Viktor Villfoer for his goal, making it 3-0. Lewis Duncan then found Wilmont Manneh, who was able to get around a couple of defenders in the box to put away the goal to make it 4-0 heading into halftime.
The second half started with freshman left-back William Gonzalez hitting a perfect cross into the box from the left flank for Jason Dyer to strike on a splendid volley, making it 5-0. Halfway through the second half, The Lakers scored an own-goal from a blunder while building out of the back, giving the Tritons their solo goal. The Lakers recovered quickly, however, with Matheus Loreto finding Jason Dyer on a perfect pass, who put the ball away after initially hitting the crossbar, giving him the hattrick and sealing off the 6-1 victory.

Iowa Lakes Men's Soccer are now 10-4 on the season and 3-3 in conference play. The Lakers host Indian Hills next Saturday at 1PM here in Spencer for their second conference match-up with the Warriors.
