The Lakers hosted Casper College from Wyoming on Saturday at home in what was a thrilling 1-0 win for Iowa Lakes. The Lakers came out hot, dominating possession and showing moments of intelligent ball movement. Philmour Virgo found Gabriel Miranda with a brilliant pass to get him into the box, where he sent his defender sliding off the pitch to cut back and rifle his shot into the near top corner.

The Lakers consistently threatened the Casper goal throughout the match with many near misses, including a low and hard, powerfully driven strike that hit the inside of the far post by Keishon Clarke, which looked like a definite goal but, against all odds, deflected out. Philmour Virgo used his intelligence to take the ball to the corner to see out the dying seconds of the game to give The Lakers the 1-0 win.
