The Iowa Lakes men's soccer team has been selected as an at large bid to compete in the NJCAA DII National Tournament.

The Lakers earn the 4 seed and will open up pool play on November 12th at 6:30pm vs 9th seeded Rock Valley College and November 14th at 6:30pm vs Pima College. 

Head coach Ben MacRae is looking forward to the opportunity, "I'm so happy for all our players and staff that we were selected as an at-large bid to the national tournament. Everyone connected has worked extremely hard to get to this point. Being selected as a #4 seed, is massive for our team. Its going to be a fantastic event and we look forward to showcasing our talent against the best teams in the nation. We will be working our hardest to prepare for every game and give ourselves the best chance to bring back some silverware."

MacRae is looking for several players to have a big impact at the tournament. Freshman Emilio Cazares has scored 15 goals tallied four assists this season. Freshman Keiji Sugiura has scored two goals and registered 13 assists. Another freshman, attacking midfielder and defender Gabriel Miranda has recorded ten goals and six assists.

Mathis Loreto and Eugenio Perez are two more defenders with big contributions. Loreto has scored six goals and had one assist and Perez has started every game at left center back.

The national tournament will take place at the King Sports Complex in Tucson, AZ. Group play for Iowa Lakes will begin Sunday, November 12th at 6:30 pm and Tuesday, November 14th at 6:30 pm. One team from each group will continue to the next round.
