Six Iowa Lakes Players Named to All-Region Team

(SPENCER, IOWA) Iowa Lakes is proud to announce six players to the ICCAC Men's Soccer All-Region team for the 2023 season. The Lakers went 13-3-2 on the season, heading into the National Championship Tournament as the #4 seed.

Freshman Emilio Cazares was named First Team All-Region for his fantastic season in front of goal. The striker led the team in goals with 15.

Freshman Keiji Sugiura was named First Team All-Region and was the crucial playmaker for The Lakers with 13 assists.

Sophomore Eugenio Perez was named First Team All-Region with fantastic defensive displays throughout the season, starting every game and center-back.

Sophomore winger Philmour Virgo was named Second Team All-Region with four goals and six assists on the season. Virgo was a constant attacking threat in wide areas throughout the year.

Sophomore Matheus Loreto was named Second Team All-Region with six goals and an assist from the center-back position.

Freshman Gabriel Miranda was named Second Team All-Region with ten goals and six assists, with his contributions split between the fullback and attacking-midfielder roles.
