The Laker Men and Women picked up where they left off at the end of winter semester with fast performances at home against Iowa Central.  Jacob Bohnert and Juliana Villa continue to lead the way as Bohnert won the Men's 200 free and Villa won both the 50 and 100 free events.  Villa also led off the Laker 200 Medley Relay which finished with the fastest time in the event.  Garrett Nielson had strong performances in the 50 free where he finished second and the 100 free where he finished third.  Nielson's times were significantly faster than his opening meet time's against Iowa Central back in October.  "Garrett's overall improvement is probably the most striking.  When we first swam against Central he was barely in each race and now he is battling to win.  He works hard every day and you can see the results in this meet.  The men's relays have also shown marked improvement.  We've found the right order and the men have learned to push each other.  If you look at Central's relays, their times from October and now are nearly the same while ours are five seconds faster in the medley relay and two seconds faster in the free relay. " Commented Coach Peters after the meet.

The Laker Swimmers travel to Freemont, Nebraska, this Saturday for a multi-team meet against Midland University, Simpson College and College of St. Mary.
