Kamryn Buntrock to Play Softball at Iowa Lakes

Iowa Lakes Community College Head Coach, Katie Larson, announced that Kamryn Buntrock will be a member of the 2019-2020 softball team. Kamryn is the daughter of Mike and Missy Buntrock and plays for the Red Oak High School Tigers in Red Oak, Iowa.

"We are very excited that Kamryn decided to be a Laker next year. The love she has for the game of softball is evident every time you talk to her. That passion and heart that she has when she plays, is a major quality that we are looking for her to bring to his team." Said Coach Larson.

A first baseman, Kamryn is a three-time softball letter winner. In her career as a Tiger, Buntrock has a batting average of .397 and an on-base percentage of .456. She has 162 hits, including 32 doubles, 8 triples, and 13 homeruns. Buntrock has also batted in 105 of her teammates and has a very impressive .993 fielding percentage. For her efforts, she has been named to the Hawkeye Ten Conference 1st Team, Hawkeye Ten Conference 2nd Team, and Hawkeye Ten Conference Honorable Mention. She is a class 3A Southwest IGCA All-District Softball award recipient and has been named to the IGCA All-State 3rd Team.

Kamryn has also excelled off the softball diamond. She has earned varsity letters in both basketball and track and field. Additionally, she has been awarded the Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award.

"Kamryn is going to not only be a great addition to our softball family, but also to this school." Commented Coach Larson. "She is a very driven young lady that will be a role-model for not only her teammates, but also the youth in the community. We are very excited to see how Kamryn will continue to grow as a Laker!"
