Reyes to Play at Iowa Lakes

Iowa Lakes Community College Head Coach, Katie Larson, announced the signing of Meagan Reyes to the 2019-2020 recruiting class. Meagan is the daughter of Chris Reyes and Anne Turek and played for the Kearney High School Bearcats in Kearney, Nebraska

"Meagan will be a great addition in the circle for us next year," commented Coach Larson. "Meagan has a winner's mentality when she is on the mound, which is something we are really looking for her to bring to our staff. Her ability to move the ball on all planes and change speeds, is something that will allow her to be very successful within the conference."

A pitcher, Reyes is a three-year softball letter winner. Last season, she was 6-6 with 134 hits allowed and 48 strikeouts. She also batted .505 for the Bearcats. Recording 47 hits, including 12 doubles and 1 homerun. For her efforts on the field, Reyes was named to the All-Conference team.

Meagan was also a two-year letter winner in track and field. Additionally, she was named to the All-Academic Team in both softball and track and field, as well as the All-Conference Academic Team for softball.

Meagan had this to say about choosing Iowa Lakes, "I chose Iowa Lakes after visiting because I felt that there was a good sense of family. Whether you are in athletics, theatre, or just a student, everyone around wants the best for you."

"We are very excited to welcome Meagan and her family to the Iowa Lakes. Meagan is going to do some amazing things both on and off the field because of her attitude, hardwork, and passion. We are thrilled to see what she is going to do in her two years here!" Commented Coach Larson.
