Allen and Nix Named to NFCA All-Region Team 

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced that 91 players from 29 schools were chosen for the 2019 NJCAA Division II All-Region softball teams. The squad is comprised of two teams in each of the country's three NJCAA regions. Two of the names on the Midwest Region First Team were Taylor Allen and Yasmine Nix. 

Taylor Allen is an outfielder/catcher from Neepawa, Manitoba, Canada. She is being recognized on first team as an outfielder. This season, Allen posted an overall batting average of .464 with an on-base percentage of .506. She had 77 hits in the season, including 22 doubles, 4 triples, and 12 homeruns. She drove in 54 if her teammates, while crossing the plate 55 times herself. Allen finished the regular season with the fifth highest batting average in the ICCAC. She has also been named to the ICCAC All-Region First Team and to the ICCAC Academic All-Region First Team this past season. 

Yasmine Nix is a pitcher/infielder from Coachella, California. She is being recognized on first team as a utility player. Nix had a batting average of .469 with an on-base percentage of .497 this past season. She hit a very impressive .535 in the conference. She had 60 overall hits, including 15 doubles and 8 homeruns. Nix had 35 runs batted in and 31 runs scored in 50 games. She finished the regular season with the fourth highest batter average in the ICCAC. As a pitcher, Nix recorded a 7-12 record. She pitched in 106 innings, allowing 104 earned runs on 178 hits, while striking out 57. Nix was also named to the ICCAC All-Region First Team this past season.
