Where Are They Now?- Lauren Cox (Smith)

Lauren attended Iowa Lakes Community College from 2007-2009. Lauren is originally from New Ulm, Minnesota, where she graduated from New Ulm High School. Her graduating class was around 200 people. Lauren immediately fell in love with the great softball program on her visit. That, combined with the opportunity to play for Coach Bosch, made the decision to attend Iowa Lakes an easy one for her.

White attending Iowa Lakes, Lauren found great success on the field. As a pitcher, she was awarded Region XI All-Conference Honorable Mention in both her freshman and sophomore seasons. During her freshman season, she helped lead her team to an NJCAA National Tournament. She did this by positing a 2.66 ERA in 139 innings pitched. She recorded 19 wins and struck out 53 batters. During that season, the Lakers were ranked #19 in the nation. Lauren is currently fifth in the Iowa Lakes Softball Record Book for career wins (30).

One of Lauren's fondest memories was winning the Region XI Tournament her sophomore year and playing at the NJCAA National Tournament. She loves every minute that she spent with her teammates and the memories she made will stay with her forever! She remembers when Coach Bosch would wear his grey on grey, which led to the term "Bosching It". That is a term that was past on for many years after.

After graduating from Iowa Lakes, Lauren attended Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minnesota to continue both her athletic and academic careers. She graduated from SMSU with her Bachelor of Science-Physical Education with an exercise science emphasis, before graduating from University of South Dakota with her Master of Science for Occupational Therapy.

Lauren currently lives in Glencoe, Minnesota with her husband of four years, Jon. They have a daughter, Allie, who is one, and a golden retriever. She is using the degree that she earned and is an Occupational Therapist at a local nursing home.
