Taylor Beane Earns ICCAC Player of the Week Honors

Iowa Lakes Community College softball player, Taylor Beane, has been recognized as last week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week.

Beane is a sophomore from Dexter, Iowa. She is the first Iowa Lakes Softball player to receive this award for the 2020 season. She was selected for this award based on games played this weekend of March 6-9. Beane produced big numbers for the Lakers during their 3-3 weekend.

On the first pitch of the season that Beane saw, the sophomore third baseman drove the ball over the fence for a homerun. Beane excelled from there over the course of six games. She went 13-23 overall (.565 batting average) with three homeruns, two doubles, and 11 runs batted in. She added six runs scored and stole three bases on the base paths. She had four multi-hit games, and at least one hit in five of the six games.

Her best game of the weekend came in a 12-0 six inning win over Southeast Community College. In that game, Beane went 3-4 with one double, one homerun, two runs scored, and three runs batted in.

Beane had this to say, "I feel like I had my team's support through the entire weekend to help not only myself, but other players on the team to push one another in every aspect on the field."
