Iowa Lakes Community College Head Softball Coach, Katie King, has announced Katie Kvigne to the 2025-2026 recruiting class. Kvigne is the daughter of Joseph Kvigne and Ronda Kvigne and attends Dell Rapids High School in Dell Rapids, South Dakota.
"We are very excited to welcome Katie Kvigne to the Laker Softball program. She is a high-quality person and student-athlete. Her love for the game shines through her every time she steps on the mound. She is exactly what we are seeking in our incoming class," commented Coach King.
A pitcher, Kvigne is a two-time letter winner for the Quarriers. She is a two-time All-Stae and All-Conference selection. She has helped lead her team to back-to-back state tournament appearances, where they have finished third both seasons. In her career, she has a 24-3 record and has struck out 162 batters. At the plate, she has an impressive .468 batting average. She has racked up 37 hits, including 7 doubles, 3 triples, and 7 homeruns. Kvigne is also member of the National Honor Society.
Kvigne is excited to become a Laker and had this to say, "'I can do all things through Chris who gives me strength' Phillipians 4:13. I believe God has given me the gift to play softball and I am so excited to continue to use hit gift to honor him at Iowa Lakes."
Coach King is excited about Kvigne joining the team in the circle next year. "Katie is an elite pitcher. Not only can she throw each of her pitches well, but she also understands how to effectively use each one. She does not just pitch, she thinks. Katie is also a very competitive person. She wants to win at every aspect of life, which is a passion and fire that we are excited to have on this team next year. I cannot wait to coach Katie and see how much she accomplishes here and in life!"
